WELSH COB |
|
The Welsh Cob is an ancient breed descended from Wales. They are the largest and strongest of Welsh breeds (Section D in the Welsh Stud Book). They are courageous, good jumpers, good swimmers and able to carry a substantial weight on their back. With great endurance and trotting ability free, true and forcible they are extremely suited to harness.
The Welsh Cob general character is one of strength and hardiness together with excellence and personality. The head should be full of pony character with prominent eyes and neat, well set ears.
Being extremely sound and hardy makes them an excellent all round riding horse. Standing at 14.2 h.h. to 15.2 h.h. the Welsh Cob comes in any colour except piebald and skewbald with bays, blacks and chestnuts the most common. |
